Jun,09 - 2003 - OzzFest - Sleep Train Amphitheatre

Ozzfest 2003 Sigh, yes it was Ozzless Fest as our local paper described it...

BUT, did I ever tell you how much I LOVE DAVE DRAIMAN????!!!! I have never gotten this close to him before and OMG, I won't get over this for a long, long time....

I don't really have a big review to give, as I am terrible about making mental notes. I did get tons of photos though and as soon as I get them back (the 14th) I'll be sending them to Almir and adding them to the HP site too.

My brother and I got there around 10'ish so we missed a couple of bands and honestly I couldn't tell you who as they completely changed the schedule and didn't follow the set list of bands. I did catch Grade 8 I know for sure and I really liked them. We hung out and distributed the window stickers that Lisa and her husband made, people loved them! Then as I was lurking about the gate by the side of the stage Dave came walking up and was talking to all of them!! I nearly died and took a bunch of photos...then Dave got on his bike and rode off and I took some photos...(sorry I totally missed all the band action at this point as I was too busy stalking Dave).

We drank some $7 dollar water and went over to stand under the water fountain (bands reported that this was the hottest Fest they had played so far) while my brother took photos of the various boob exhibits.
We basically wandered around checking out stuff, bought some cute shirts for the babies in my life that say "Future Headbanger", I was happy as I'd never seen baby/toddler stuff there before. We checked out Jonathan's "collection" for $5 each and it was pretty cool; had my brother take my photo by Pinhead (one of my heroes) and hopefully it will turn out.

After that we wandered back to the dust hole and took some photos of Motorgrater signing autographs then made our way back to the mezzanine area where OH MY GOD, DAVE WAS SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS!!!!! But of course I was so awestruck that he was sitting there in front of me that I didn't have sense enough to pay the $20 for yet another CD (I already have two copies of this one as it is) so I could walk over, get it signed and TOUCH HIM!! Sigh.

Finally the main stage opened and Chevelle was great, I just think they are a great bunch of guys period, but they were good. When they finished Joe was standing out in the walkway talking to a girl and my brother walked over to take his photo and he took the camera, put his arm around my brother and took it with him. That was pretty cool of him. My brother has liked them since the first time he saw them at Ozzfest, he said he likes them even more now.

Gwenna and nephew - Ozzfest 2003 Disturbed....what can I say I LOVE HIM!!!! I've never been close enough to experience his "wiggle" before and I am just in heaven. (I love their music too.) The crowd got really crazy (pit) and I almost got knocked down. Oh yeah, and I took a bunch more photos..hehehehe.

Marilyn Manson is the Alice Cooper of today. Talk about a visually stimulating show, WOW. I just love him, that is one smart guy let me tell you, really knows how to market himself and provide what the fans are wanting. His dancers were great and I even danced and sang to Doll Dagga Buzz Buzz.

Krn was great but honestly at this point I was heat stroked, in pain, dirty, tired and ready to go home so to beat the traffic jam we split after about four songs, my brother gave his pit bracelet to some drunk guy on the way out and we went to Jack in the Box and home to bed.

Water-$7
Soda and lemonade-$6
Ozzfest sampler-$5 (dart game)
Subway sandwich (pre-made)-$6
Seeing Dave Draiman wiggle up close-PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
