OzzFest goes full

OzzFest goes full metalTwo decades ago, you wouldn't get long odds on all these hard-living, no-sleeping, Satan-worshiping heavy-metal rockers even being alive at middle age, but headliners Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden were still impressive at Saturday's OzzFest at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View. OZZY OSBOURNE ANNOUNCES THAT OZZEST 2005 WILL BE HIS LAST AS FESTIVAL HEADLINER

As OZZFEST 2005 continues to storm across America, OZZY OSBOURNE has just announced that this year's trek (on which he appears with BLACK SABBATH) will be his final stint as the festival's yearly headliner. For the past ten years as OZZfest's namesake and lead attraction, Ozzy has closed each show with either his solo band or with the immortal BLACK SABBATH. OZZFEST will carry on in 2006, however Ozzy will limit his performances to only a few, select cities. "After 10 years the OZZfest's name and reputation has been established. It's time for me to move on and do other things" says Osbourne.

Originally launched in 1996 as a limited experiment, OZZFEST has taken on a life of its own and has become a virtual breeding ground for rising bands. The festival has been instrumental in catapulting the careers of platinum-selling artists like System of a Down, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Incubus, Slipknot, Disturbed, Queens of the Stoneage, Drowning Pool, Godsmack and Chevelle.

The summer's OZZFEST presents a mighty, unrivaled lineup: the mainstage features Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Mudvayne, Shadows Fall and Black Label Society with Velvet Revolver and Slipknot on select dates. The second stage hosts headliner Rob Zombie, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Mastodon, The Haunted, In Flames, Arch Enemy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Bury Your Dead, Soilwork, Trivium, It Dies Today, A Dozen Furies and more.

Ozzy Osbourne is set to leave America for good - to retire in Britain.

The ageing rocker, who spends much of his time at home in Los Angeles, says he is fed-up with the US and once he finishes touring will move back to his homeland.

The Prince of Darkness, who also owns a mansion in Britain's countryside, said: "I'm going to go back to Britain. I can't see me spending the rest of my days in America."

The star has also dismissed rumours his English home is cursed. In the past six months, the house has been the scene of his near fatal quad biking accident, a jewellery theft and fire.

He said: "That's a coincidence and doesn't worry me. When I've finished touring, I'm coming home."

OZZY ON ALICE COOPER SHOW POSTED

In an interview to Alice Cooper (on his Nights with Alice Cooper radio show), Ozzy Osbourne spoke about the great rock bands of the past. "How more simple can you get than "You really got me" [by The Kinks]". I bought that single and I played it until I had to buy another one" said Ozzy. Regarding his influences and the impact of the Beatles: "I don't think there will ever be another Beatles... it's melodic."

He also made a comment about another rock band: "The tragedy of the last 20 years was Guns N' Roses... they were well up there... then Axl read the tealeaves in his cup and went nuts or something".

Ozzy girl in cancer scare

Paris Hilton And Aimee Osbourne - Photo L.A. Times

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's eldest daughter Aimee has had a breast cancer scare.

Aimee Osbourne, 21, was due to appear in the West End production of the Vagina Monologues with her mother, but pulled out last week due to a "mystery illness".

The pair flew straight to America so Aimee could receive the best treatment.

According to the Daily Mirror, Sharon, who was treated for colon cancer two years ago, confirmed: "Aimee's had a breast cancer scare. She found a lump on her breast, which she's had removed.

"The operation went very well on the whole, but there have been a few minor complications and she will be having more treatment and lots of rest over the next few weeks.

"We're sure she'll make a complete recovery.

"Health really is the most important thing in life. After the 12 months we've had, no one realises that more than me.

"I promise to let you know the second she gets the all-clear."

The family has been hit by a catalogue of disasters recently.

Just after Sharon recovered from her cancer scare, children Jack and Kelly were treated for drug addictions.

Then Ozzy was critically injured in a quad bike accident. Last year the rocker confronted burglars at their Buckinghamshire mansion who made off with a fortune in treasured jewels.

And only last month a fire broke out at their home.

Osbournes pull out of Vagina Monologues

Aimee and Sharon Osbourne have pulled out of the West End show The Vagina Monologues as Aimee has taken ill, a spokeswoman has said.

A statement said: "Sharon and Aimee Osbourne have to pull out of their scheduled appearances in the upcoming London West End production of The Vagina Monologues, directed by Irina Brown.

"This is due to unavoidable personal reasons. Aimee has been taken ill and the family are therefore flying back home to LA over the weekend so that she can have further treatment and rest.

"They apologise profusely for letting the cast down and wish them all the very best for the upcoming production."

Aimee, 21, had been set to begin her run with her mother in the West End production of the show on Tuesday (05APR05).

In a statement, a spokeswoman says the family has flown to Los Angeles so that Aimee can have "further treatment and rest".

The representative says, "They were both very much looking forward to appearing in the show, but Sharon's focus now has to be on the family and, more importantly, Aimee's health."

Aimee was the only one in the family not to appear in the show which catapulted the Osbournes to fame.
